Nearshore

Advantages of a Nearshore Model

The concept of “Nearshore” Outsourcing was forged by leading Manufacturing Analysts (Gartner et al) as a formal alternative to traditional “Offshoring” suppliers – launched and optimized by the South Asian providers (primarily India). The concept began to gain momentum during the early 2000’s as LATAM governments (Brazil, Argentina, Chile & Mexico) began marketing the concept with more purpose and investment. The broader market now identifies Nearshore with primarily LATAM, Canada and Mexico for the U.S.A. The term has also now evolved to describe any outsourcing location “near” to its primary market (e.g., Latin American countries to North American markets) - Some of the aforementioned analysts describe it as services delivered from an adjacent or nearby country.

     • Flexibility is key to Politec  success in Nearshore - we accommodate the needs of our clients;

     • USA based consulting organization allows for strong on site and Nearshore client support;
     • Principles of the sell and deliver model for Politec  teams ensures commitments that can be kept;

     • Focus on minimizing employee turnover through a solid professional development program;
     • Commitment to investment in emerging technologies;
     • Constant expansion into new technology labor markets in LATAM to stay cost effective;

These benefits represent the most elemental form of value proposition for a Nearshore offering, since they are seemingly available for every company that establishes in a Nearshore location, and for a seasoned global sourcing professional can be easily justifiable. Thus, it is understandable to see many players jumping into the Nearshore bandwagon and claim the Nearshore value proposition.

At Politec, we are certain that these elements serve as a fundamental foundation to build a powerful value proposition for users of global services, but are just the starting point, since without a highly mature approach and world-class practices these benefits cannot be fully leveraged.
