Brazil's Minas Gerais state water utility Copasa (Bovespa: CSMG3) has awarded local IT company Politec a SAP (NYSE: SAP) maintenance contract, online news source Baguete reported.
Under the terms of the agreement, Politec will be responsible for the upkeep and development of new ERP modules, such as finances, purchases, human resources, payment and supplier relations.
The contract will last five years and is worth 8.1mn reais (US$4.7mn).
Copasa has more than 11,000 employees.
In September, Brazilian power holding company Eletrobras tapped Politec for SAP upgrades, as well as the installation of a human resources module for the ERP and an additional management solution.
Meanwhile, other key utilities clients f or Politec include Brazil's Bahia state water and sanitation utility Embasa and São Paulo state water utility Sabesp (Bovespa: SBSP3; NYSE: SBS).
